I did not change my speed according to time like I normally do today. I changed it when the song changed. I have not idea how long I was at cetain speeds but my goal was to run 3 miles. I got up to 5.7 mph and I was doing pretty good. I am sick today so I was not sure how long I was going to be able to hold up. I was coughing some at the end so I was happy when my 3 miles came up. Again my knee was in some pain, but it was not as bad as it has been! I know taking it light really helped and I am glad that the next three weeks are going to be light days so I can be healthy for the marathon! I cannot believe it is only 3 weeks away. I feel like I have been training forever and it has become such a part of my life. It will be nice when it is over though and I am not running those long distances that take me so long to finish!

I only ran 6.1 miles (really I cannot remember) and walked after that for 15 mins. I was in Las Vegas and since I had decided to take it light this week, I did not want to run too much. My knee was in some pain but I was able to keep going. I might have been able to keep going but I really wanted to save my knee for the marathon. I need to let my body rest more. It felt good to get a decent run in though because I needed to know that I could do it and I missed the energy and confidence it gives me.
I lifted weights after. I worked out in the hotel gym and it was an amazing area. It was beautiful and everyone was so kind and wanting to make sure you had everything you needed, etc. I just felt great when I left.

I ran today!!! There was pain in my knee but I wanted to push myself to at least run a little while. It was not hurting as much as it did on Tuesday so I just kept going. It felt so good to get moving which is doing wonders for my emotional state. I have been pretty down this week. I probably could have kept running a little longer but I figure why not take it slow. I don't want to completely ruin my knee so I can't do the marathon at all.

I did Dance Jam! I have not had a real workout all week that at least makes me feel good. I finally did. I did not work as hard as I could have because there are just some moves you don't want to do with a bad knee. It was fun though and I felt so energized when I was finished! I tried to run even though I knew I should not. I walked for 5 minutes first and thought that would make it easier (hoping my knee was a little warmer) but I only lasted 2 minutes. I am taking it light this week so I decided to ride the bike. I lasted about a minute and a half before the pain was too much. This is really hard for me. It is making me sad that I cannot work out and it is amazing what it does to me emotionally and how much I hate how I feel right now that I have not been able to do anything. Tomorrow, I am working through the pain.

The evidence that I worked my knee too much yesterday was obvious with this run. It hurt pretty much from the beginning and it is still hurting to walk now. I was not sure I would want to finish but again, I pushed. My goal today was 3.5 miles and when I got to 3 I thought that was good enough but I really just wanted to accomplis the 3.5 miles so I kept going. I did enjoy the run but was pretty tired during most of it. I lifted weights again and as always it made me HAPPY! There is something about lifting weights that makes me feel like I am pushing away all my troubles and it gets my frustrations out. Maybe it is just exercise but I love how I feel mentally when I get done working out.

I ran after work because the weather was beautiful and I wanted to get an extra hour + of sleep. Trina will sometimes go out after work so I invited her to come with me. She has problems with her knees so we had to walk more than planned. She ended up going home a different way and I kept running the route we had planned on taking. I was not completely dissapointed that we had to walk some because my knee is still not feeling good. It was a little frustrating and my calves were hurting. It was not a great run for me but I was glad that I did something.

My goal was to do it in 4 hours. I know that I only beat it by 5 minutes but I beat it. I have been nervous about this run all week. I am not really sure why I was so nervous but my runs had not been great last week but they did improve this week. I was just glad that I finished when I walked in the door to check the time. I thought that it was going to say 11:30 so I was extremely surprised and happy when it said 11:15. I felt pretty good through out most of the run. Between miles 10 - 14 or 15, there was a group of three girls that were running behind me which kept me moving. I did not want them to pass me. It is crazy how much motivation there is when people are running around you. I hope that it also helps me during the actual race to have people around me and the adrenaline. My body started hurting during the last 5 -6 miles but I kept pushing and knew that I would not be happy with myself if I did not finish. I am proud of myself today and happy that I finished.
Physically I am hurting. Not too much more than I did when I ran 18 miles but my right knee is giving me problems today. Normally it is my left knee that hurts but it is feeling great - no pain. The rest of me is just having the pain of hurting when I walk! I am hoping that my recovery is quick.

It was Daylight Savings yesterday and it was really hard to get up this morning. On top of that my stomach is still not right. I got up and was at the gym at 5 a.m. anyway. By the end I was feeling like I might be able to keep running but my stomach was not going to allow it. I did lift some weights for about 10 minutes too but I could not do that anymore either. Still feeling accomplished at being able to run at this point. I am not sure what is going on with my stomach but I am hoping that it will be over by this weekend since I am running 18-20 miles. I was able to do it under my goal time which makes me really happy. I was feeling pretty good during the run. I ran a 8.1 mile route and did it faster than my 8 mile run the week before. I was feeling really good about that. My next 8.1 miles was not too bad. I was actually feeling great through most of it. I did not walk as much as I had the previous 8.1 miles but I also did not do it quite as fast. I think that I had started losing steam towards the end. I ran the last almost two miles just around my neighborhood. This is my longest run to date and I had no blisters and I was still walking. My left knee is giving me problems and I probably should have iced it but of course I did not. I will try to remember that for my 20 mile run. I am hoping to get a massage that day to help my muscle and body relax. My back is hurting me also. My back does not normally hurt so I am not sure what to think about that.
In all, I am really proud of myself. I am hoping that if I keep taking care of myself these next weeks that my recovery will go well and I will be able to not be in too much pain when I leave on my trip. This run helped me with my confidence. I needed it to keep me going.
Total 18 miles in 3 hours 27 mins (11.5 min/mile)
I was able to do it under my goal time which makes me really happy. I was feeling pretty good during the run. I ran a 8.1 mile route and did it faster than my 8 mile run the week before. I was feeling really good about that. My next 8.1 miles was not too bad. I was actually feeling great through most of it. I did not walk as much as I had the previous 8.1 miles but I also did not do it quite as fast. I think that I had started losing steam towards the end. I ran the last almost two miles just around my neighborhood. This is my longest run to date and I had no blisters and I was still walking. My left knee is giving me problems and I probably should have iced it but of course I did not. I will try to remember that for my 20 mile run. I am hoping to get a massage that day to help my muscle and body relax. My back is hurting me also. My back does not normally hurt so I am not sure what to think about that.
In all, I am really proud of myself. I am hoping that if I keep taking care of myself these next weeks that my recovery will go well and I will be able to not be in too much pain when I leave on my trip. This run helped me with my confidence. I needed it to keep me going.
