My goal today was to run 3 miles. I was able to do it faster than I had planned. I did not think that I could run the full 10 minutes at 5.8. I was going to try at least for 5 minutes. My side ache came back at this time but after I hit the 5 min mark, I just wanted to push myself and keep going. It really tires me out and I need to be careful that I don't total exhuast myself by pushing too hard but it is easier to push on these shorter runs because the end is so much closer. It was a good run though and I have not been making it to 3 miles on these runs lately so I was happy that I made it. I was able to lift weights for a short time and even though it was not as much as I wanted, it felt great!

Dance Jam for 60 mins.
I got really tired during this workout. I am not sure why I was tired but my energy level was really lacking. I ate enough food during the day that being on empty was definitely not the problem. I still love this class though and it really gives me a pick me up. The energy level is fabulous and I am able to just let myself go. It is great for letting go of things on my mind or stress. I do not do that when I am running because I have time to let my mind think about things that are going on and there is nothing to distract it.

I was tired the moment on got on the treadmill this morning. I did not begin to feel like I could keep going until almost 20 minutes into the run. When I was running at the higher speeds, my side ache came back and I was struggling. I also wanted to stop during that time. I don't know if it was because I was tired or because I just do not run well at a faster pace. I think that I still have some work to do to get my cardivascular better.

I lifted weights again today and that was again wonderful. I just love lifting. I like the idea of getting stronger. I was glad my run went well too because I am trying to mentally prepare for the 18 miles this weekend.

My run felt really good this morning. I still did not eat anything before so I need to figure something out in that area. I struggled a little bit at the beginning but by the end I was feeling good. For my last half mile, I really pushed myself to move faster. I turned on a upbeat song and ran to its speed. I need to work on pushing myself a little bit more on those long runs especially at the ends. I know I can do it, I just need to keep moving.

I did the reformer with Maria. It is pilates on a machine. I have never done it before and I really enjoyed it. I have a lot of work to do to get better at it. I hope to be able to do more on my stretch days and when I am done training for this marathon. It was nice to do something different.

It makes my legs tired. I wanted to give up in the first 10 minutes today but I pushed along. I loved how I was feeling when I got finished. I lifted weights again today. Not for long though because I did not have much time. I have been doing more leg work and I am starting to see the difference in my legs every day. They are definitely firming up, which is awesome!
My run today helped me relieve some stress and made me feel good about facing the day. I am struggling emotionally and I am glad that I have a physical outlet for it.

I only ran for the 30 mins today because I wanted to lift weights. I loved lifting weights. My run went pretty well. I was pretty tired to start but I ended up feeling good. I have been having side aches while running and it has been really uncomfortable. I had one today but it only lasted for about 5 minutes. I still did not eat before I ran and even though it was only 30 mins, I should still try to eat something.

Here is the deal. I got 3 hours of sleep and ate half of an energy bar before trying to run my plan of 15 miles. So as I figured out that was a terrible plan. I was not as tired as I thought I would be but I learned the true value of eating enough food. I had a tuna fish sandwich for dinner the night before which also was not enough to sustain me through the run. I started out doing pretty well but after the first hour and half I started to really struggle. I just could not get my self moving without feeling like I was going to pass out. I was going to keep going and try to get at least 14 miles but I decided that passing out was not worth it.
I started running outside but it began snowing on me within the first 5 minutes of my run so I decided to head to the gym. I hated running on the treadmill and I actually might have been able to go a little longer if I had been outside. I am not so good on the treadmill on my long runs. I cannot wait for the weather to get good enough that I won't even have to think about running that much on a treadmill.
I was upset with myself but it had taught me a valuable lesson. I need to focus more time on me and my health. I need to make time to plan ahead and get the items I need to keep me going. This was the first time that I did not attain the scheduled amount of running. I am vowing now to never have that happen again.

However, the last 3 miles about killed me. I was having a hard time wanting to continue. I ended up walking more during the last 3 miles than I wanted. I need to work on my walk speed also. I love these days. I enjoy the mix up in the routine and the opportunity to work other areas of my body. I did not do it with the hand weights, mainly because I forgot, and it was the first time for that. It was easier but it was nice to enjoy the workout.
